I received the Asus 1005HA net book 1 week ago. I am completely satisfied with it. It is everything it was hyped up to be. After getting rid of the bloatware I installed MS Office, using a small portable external CD/DVD drive. I then upgraded the ram to 2 gigs.

There is an application on the Asus website that allows you to change the wallpaper on Windows7 Starter. It is called System Setting Start-Up that allows you to use your own pictures as wallpaper.

First let me say that I purchased this item from another website, but let me be clear in saying that Amazon is my number one site for all types of purchases.
I have had this product for about a week now and I must say it does deliver. Not only does it have great battery perfomance, it offers a sleugh of other features that just make it an overall great value. I have been pondering it over for a while and decided to go the route of the netbook, its small enough to be portable, but has the abililty to handle basic task such as word processing, web browsing and email. I purchased this item with Windows 7 and was upset with the limitation of not being able to change the wallpaper. However, ASus has a great application/utility on their site that they released that circumvents this hinderance. I have it with Win 7 Starter, 1GB of Ram (which I upgraded to 2 GB - highly recommended) 250 GB HDD (with 500GB of Internet Storage, graciously provided by Asus), comes with an inner sleeve (I recommended getting a carry case), built in webcam and mic. It also has 3 USB ports, bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n wireless LAN, memory card reader and best of all 10.5hours of battery life, that you cannot beat.

Overall, for the cost and value plus the things you get from this machine, it is definately worth the purchase in my opinion.

You might be wondering why I gave it 4 stars after all the praise. Well Win 7 Starter for one, that is mainly M$ fault for even release a crippled version of windows 7, shame on them. And while the machine perfoms well for a netbook, dont expect to be doing lots of task at once. Lets be honest about most computer users. They are not running Call of Duty 4 and they are not running photoshop. What most users want in a Notebook can be found in this Netbook. The LCD back lit screen is gorgeous to work on. It provides plenty of real estate to easily navigate a web page as well as work on document.

I chose the Mini 311 because of the ION graphics. Now with Adobe Flash 10.1 Beta you can watch HiDef Hulu in full screen with no stutter.

Its the perfect take with you computer, its light weight, long battery life while still managing to pack quite a punch thanks to the ION graphics. I recommend this for anyone looking for basic computing on the go. I have two desktops to supplement this device but I have yet to encounter a task that the HP Mini 311 has failed to accomplish.

I use the Mini 311 for work where I deal with network infrastructure. I use it at school where I am continuing my education via the Cisco Networking Academy and other IT related courses. If this fits your profile and are sick of the 10 lbs notebook then you will not be disappointed in this netbook.

The IOS is mentioned briefly in HP's official product specs, but I think they could make a strong case for the value of it.

I did not know the IOS existed when I bought this, but now I find it to be my favorite feature of the machine.
